ARC Squared- or Arc What's that?

  • It stands for American Red Cross Amateur Radio Club
  • We are located at the Northern New Jersey headquarters of the North Jersey regional chapter Chapter of the American Red Cross, and our "Base station", Call sign NJ2RC, is located in the Disaster Operations Center ("DOC")
  • It is a project started in 2005 by ARC volunteers to improve the ARC's ability to communicate during disaster and emergency operations.
  • Members are interested emergency communications using amateur (Ham) radio, and are (or aspire to be) licensed by the FCC as Ham radio operators.

Membership:

Membership in ARCSquared is free and is open anyone who is interested in assisting the chapter with communications in time of emergency or disaster.  As a volunteer organization, we welcome all, whether or not you currently possess a Ham "Ticket" or license.  If not, we will assist you in obtaining your ticket, and give you hands on experience with our equipment.
